Academic Council

The Academic Council of the Institute is a collegial advisory body for the management of scientific and scientific-technical activities of the Institute. The Academic Council makes decisions and develops recommendations within its areas of competence, as defined by the Institute’s statute.

The Academic Council of the Institute discusses the main directions of the Institute’s scientific and technical activities and recommends them for approval by the Department of Chemistry and the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and also considers:

Issues related to improving the structure of the Institute;
Issues of coordination and scientific cooperation with other organisations and institutions;
The holding of meetings and conferences;
Issues of international scientific cooperation of the Institute;
Issues of scientific and publishing activities;
The nomination of outstanding scientific works, scientific discoveries and inventions for prizes, medals and other awards, including international ones;
The nomination and discussion of candidates for the position of Director of the Institute;
Election of the scientific staff and heads of scientific departments through competition;
Submitting applications for the award of academic and honorary titles;
Nomination of candidates for election as full members (Academicians) and Corresponding members of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

The Academic Council analyses the state of scientific research, its financial, material and technical support, and the training of scientific personnel.

The Academic Council approves:

Programmes, projects and plans for scientific research and experimental design work;
Reports on the work and most important achievements of the Institute, reports of individual scientific departments, including self-financing ones;
Decisions on awarding the title of Honorary Employee of the Institute.

The Academic Council approves:

The results of the certification of scientific workers;
The topics of doctoral and candidate dissertations of scientific employees and postgraduate students of the Institute, as well as their scientific supervisors (consultants).
