Gender policy

The V.P. Kukhar Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry and Petrochemistry of the NAS of Ukraine carries out its scientific and educational activities with the provision of equal rights and opportunities for women and men in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Ensuring Equal Rights and Opportunities for Women and Men”, which is aimed at establishing gender equality, preventing discrimination on the basis of sex, preventing and combating gender-based violence, ensuring equal participation of women and men in making socially important decisions, ensuring equal opportunities for women and men to combine professional and family responsibilities, protecting society from information aimed at discrimination on the basis of sex, developing an inclusive and gender-sensitive public space, friendly to families with children and low-mobility population groups, etc.

The Institute provides equal working conditions, career development and opportunities for all employees, regardless of gender. All employees of the Institute have the same rights and opportunities, regardless of their gender, gender identity, age, nationality, social status, etc.

As of January 1, 2026, the number of female researchers is 43 (35% of the total number of researchers). Women hold 5 management positions (3.4% of the total number).
