The V.P. Kukhar Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry and Petrochemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is accepting applications for doctoral studies in 2025 in the following specializations: 02.00.10 “Bioorganic Chemistry” and 02.00.13 “Petrochemistry and Carbon Chemistry.”

The Institute has a specialized academic council D.26.220.01, which accepts for consideration and conducts defenses of dissertations for the degree of Doctor of Chemical Sciences in the specialties 02.00.10 “Bioorganic Chemistry” and 02.00.13 “Petrochemistry and Coal Chemistry.”

  • Persons who have a PhD (candidate of sciences) degree, scientific achievements, and published works in their chosen scientific specialty (including publications in international refereed journals indexed in scientometric databases in accordance with the requirements for the scientific qualification of persons who are pursuing academic degrees) and scientific results that require completion or formalization in the form of a dissertation, monograph, or scientific report based on a collection of articles.
  • Admission to doctoral studies is based on the decision of the Institute's Academic Council, taking into account scientific and technical achievements in the chosen specialty in accordance with the established requirements.
  • The Department of Scientific and Organizational Work and Intellectual Property of the Institute forms a draft ranking list of applicants for doctoral studies and submits it to the Academic Council of the Institute for consideration.
  • The Academic Council of the Institute, in accordance with the budget places allocated by the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine on a competitive basis, reviews the ranking list and documents of applicants, hears their scientific reports, and decides by vote on admission to the doctoral program of the Institute.
  • The Academic Council of the Institute, in accordance with the characteristics of the applicant's scientific activity, assigns a scientific advisor to the doctoral student from among the Institute's full-time scientific staff with a doctoral degree in the relevant specialty. The decision of the Academic Council is approved, formalized by order of the Director of the Institute, and submitted to the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

1. application for admission to doctoral studies;

2. written description of the applicant's scientific activity, provided by a doctor of sciences responsible for the applicant's scientific work. To be admitted to doctoral studies at the Institute, applicants must personally submit the following documents:When submitting documents, the applicant must personally present the originals of the identity document required by the Law of Ukraine “On the Unified State Demographic Register and Documents Confirming Citizenship, Identity or Special Status”; a diploma of Doctor of Philosophy or Candidate of Sciences; a military registration document.When accepting persons who submit a document on the level of education obtained abroad (hereinafter referred to as the Document) for training in doctoral studies, the procedure for recognition and establishment of equivalence of the Document is mandatory, which is carried out in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine “Some issues of recognition of foreign documents on education in Ukraine” dated May 5, 2015, No. 504, registered with the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine on May 27, 2015, under No. 614/27059.The employment record book with an entry on dismissal from the last place of work in connection with admission to doctoral studies shall be submitted by the doctoral student in person within three days after enrollment in doctoral studies under the state order.a doctoral supervisor in the relevant specialty, who is a full-time scientific and pedagogical or scientific employee of the Institute, with the consent to be a scientific consultant in case of admission of the applicant to doctoral studies;

- an application for admission to doctoral studies;

- a written description of the applicant's scientific activity, provided by a Doctor of Science in the relevant specialty who is a full-time scientific-pedagogical or scientific employee of the Institute, with consent to be a scientific advisor in case of admission of the applicant to doctoral studies;

- a detailed proposal of the applicant for admission to doctoral studies, containing a research plan and information on the scope of scientific work required to prepare the results of the research for defense;

- a list and copies of published scientific works and inventions;

- a copy of the diploma of Doctor of Philosophy or Candidate of Sciences;

- a personal data sheet (with a 4x6 photo), certified by the seal of the institution where the applicant for doctoral studies works;

- 2 color photos, 3x4 cm in size;

- a copy of the employment record book, certified at the place of work;

- a copy of an identity document as required by the Law of Ukraine “On the Unified State Demographic Register and Documents Confirming Citizenship, Identity or Special Status”;

- a copy of military registration documents – for persons liable for military service (except in cases provided for by law);

- a statement of consent to the collection and processing of personal data.

3. a detailed proposal from the applicant for admission to the doctoral program, containing a research plan and information on the scope of scientific work required to prepare the results of the research for defense;

4. a list and copies of published scientific works and inventions;

5. a copy of the PhD or candidate of science diploma;

6. a personal data sheet (with a 4x6 photo), certified by the seal of the institution where the applicant for doctoral studies works;

7. 2 color photos, 3x4 cm in size;

8. a copy of the employment record book, certified at the place of work;

9. a copy of an identity document as required by the Law of Ukraine “On the Unified State Demographic Register and Documents Confirming Citizenship, Identity or Special Status”;

10. a copy of military registration documents for persons liable for military service (except in cases provided for by law);

11. a statement of consent to the collection and processing of personal data.

To enroll in the doctoral program of the Institute, applicants must personally submit the following documents:
